About Us
Tom Murphy is currently providing residential design, drafting and project costing services. Christine Murphy assists folks in purchasing their homesite. Tom and his wife Christine have worked for national real estate franchises, ReMax and Keller Williams. They enjoy helping people gather information and use their experience, to make knowledgeable decisions on their real estate and home building transactions.
Indirectly Tom’s home building career began in high school. A cleanup boy shoveling sawdust, emptying barrels of scrap pine and oak, He worked in a small furniture factory in upstate New York.
A forklift hit the side of a building. Tom tended to mix the mortar during the blockwork repair, for a young man who just graduated trade school. Tom followed that path.
Tom married his high school sweetheart, Christine in 1979. They have four children, all now adults. They are very proud of them and their nine grandchildren. Christine can talk for hours about their accomplishments.
During the latter ‘70s, Tom apprenticed for contractors doing home improvements, throughout the Hudson Valley area. In the ‘80s they owned a carpentry contracting and home building company. In 1988 the family moved to sunny southwest Florida.
They began a carpentry contracting business in Florida and when computers became available to produce home plans, Tom incorporated the technology. Hurricane Andrew and the new engineering codes led to a decade of implementing technology into the design and building of residential housing.
Once the economic and housing recession hit in December of 2007, new construction became almost non-existent. Tom and Christine took their experience into residential home resales. They helped buyers and sellers navigate those market conditions providing brokerage services for sixty-six transaction sides in 2009.
Today, Tom and Christine are dedicating their time exclusively to folks building new homes providing assistance with homesite purchase, residential design, drafting and project costing services.
